By Jerry Seper - The United States and Singapore yesterday agreed to cooperate in the Secure Freight Initiative (SFI) — a plan by Homeland Security and the Energy and State departments aimed at keeping radioactive weapons out of U.S.- freight bound cargo.
Officials at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which will oversee the program, said Singapore is a key location because it ranks first in terms of volume of transshipments among worldwide seaports processing freight containers with goods destined for the U.S. and sixth in terms of the volume of shipments and containers imported.
